I find it a bit ironic.they assumably are trying to keep the grounds clean, however in doing so are actually doing the opposite. So, tonight if my dog needs to go, I guess I'll have to get dressed at 2:00 am and go for a walk in the dark. I then asked where I should take my dog should she need to pee and was told to either go on a trail or in a field, neither of which was located near my room. I called and specifically asked the front desk if my dog could pee on the grass and was told they would prefer not although unfortunately she guessed that "dogs will be dogs". It is gated off and there are no chairs or anything for people to sit on and at first glance you will think to yourself, "this place is perfect"! Then you realize that not only is your dog not allowed on the grass directly behind your "dog friendly" unit, but isn't allowed on grass anywhere, EVEN TO PEE. Anyway, if you bring a pet you must pay extra for a king room which has a lovely outdoor back patio with a gate that leads directly to an open grass area accessible by all the pet friendly rooms. Not exactly the most pet friendly place I've ever been but then again we just came from Aspen where dogs are treated like royalty, esp at your higher end hotels. My main and probably only gripe is the pet policy(s).
It does have a bit of a motel vibe but the rooms were nice. Just like all the previous reviews, this lodge is located in a beautiful setting.
